    The 2019 Steinbeck Festival, “In Search of America” revisits John Steinbeck’s 1962 book, Travels with Charley and invites participants to reflect on American culture and identity. Join us for riveting presentations, tours, films, art, food, and performances.

    About the Steinbeck Festival:
    A literary celebration of John Steinbeck’s enduring legacy, the Steinbeck Festival has taken place for the last 38 years in and around Salinas. Each year the Festival explores a new theme relating to the life and works of Salinas native, John Steinbeck The Festival is a dynamic, spirited, and challenging exploration through talks, films, performances, and exhibits. It is open to the public and intended to instruct, entertain, and connect like-minded Steinbeck lovers and newbies.

    The Salinas City Center Improvement Association meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 10am at CSUMB @ Salinas City Center. The meeting is open to the public and attendees are welcome to share their opinions and questions during the public forum portion of the agenda.

    Main Street will be filled with wine tasting stops, food sampling stations, live music, artist/artisan vendors, and the opportunity to experience world-class wines, craft beers, and gourmet foods. Admission to the main festival is free and tickets can be purchased for wine and beer tastings along with samplings of culinary delights from local chefs, caterers, and restaurants.
